This year the Utah Heritage Foundation is hosting its annual Historic Homes Tour in the Westmoreland Place neighborhood on May 14, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Westmoreland Place, which is marked by the stone gates at the diagonal intersection of 1500 E and 1300 S, is Salt Lake’s newest local historic district. The neighborhood includes roughly 50 homes and was developed between 1913 and 1922 by the Dunshee Brothers who were influenced mainly by the Arts & Crafts movement which worked its way east from California.
The tour will include eight homes in the area and the cost of admission is $15 for Utah Heritage Foundation members or $20 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased the day-of at the tour headquarters at Westmoreland Place and 1500 E. Parking is available at Uintah Elementary School’s parking lot.
